BREAD IN A BAG

2 cups flour
1/2 T yeast
1 T. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cups very warm water
1 T. margarine--room temp. (can also use oil)
cooking spray
1 gallon size zip lock bag.

In a ziplock bag, add all dry ingredients, seal--mix well. Then add water and margarine. Seal bag and begin slowly kneading the bag with fingers. Once ingredients are well mixed you can become a little more rigorous in your kneading. Test dough--it may need more flour or water. Knead until bread does not stick to sides of bag. Turn out onto floured surface and finish kneading--until smooth and elastic. Spray dough with a little cooking spray, cover with plastic bag, let rest 10 minutes. Shape and place on cookie sheet or in bread pan. Use for rolls, bread, pizza dough, breadsticks, scones, etc. Let rise in warm place until doubled in size. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown--for bread it is about 25-30 minutes.

Calzones

Bread in a Bag Dough
1/4 cup Pizza Sauce
1/4 cup Pepperoni (chopped)
1/4 cup mozzarella cheese
1 T. Egg
1 t. Water

Preheat oven to 400∞. Lightly flour an area on the counter. Divide dough into 5-6 pieces. Roll each piece out until 1/4’ thick. Lightly spread the top with pizza sauce. Top with pepperoni and cheese. Fold dough over to form a half circle. Use a fork to seal edges. (Seal well so filling will not run out during baking.) Spray pan with PAM, Beat egg and water together. Use pastry brush to spread egg mixture on top of the pocket. Bake 10-12 min or until golden brown.

PIZZA SAUCE

1/2 C TOMATO SAUCE
1/8 tsp. OREGANO
1/4 tsp. ITALIAN SEASON
1/4 tsp. PEPPER
1/4 tsp. GARLIC POWDER

Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl.
